Kelly Visnak Appointed Associate Vice President & University Librarian for Texas State University

Texas State University has named Kelly Visnak associate vice president & university librarian, effective August 16, 2021.

Visnak previously served as associate university librarian for scholarly communications at the University of Texas at Arlington 2015–2021. Prior to that, she was the scholarly communications librarian at the University of Wyoming 2011–2015. She also has experience as an adjunct faculty member at the School of Information Studies, Dominican University, and at the School of Library and Information Management, Emporia State University, where she directed the Colorado Master of Library Science Program 1998–2011. She earned a PhD in library science from Dominican University, an MLS from Emporia State University, and a BA from Metropolitan State University of Denver.

At Texas State University, Visnak succeeds Joan L. Heath, who will retire on August 31, 2021, after leading the University Libraries since 1987.
