The University of California (UC) Santa Cruz has named Kerry Scott interim university librarian beginning January 2026 upon the retirement of Elizabeth Cowell, who has served as university librarian since 2014, following a year as interim university librarian.
Kerry joined UC Santa Cruz in 2001 from The University of Arizona and has held numerous leadership positions, including head of Research Support Services. In 2016, she became the associate university librarian. She holds an MA in library and information science from the University of Arizona, an MA in East Asian studies from Washington University in St. Louis, and a BA in East Asian studies from Beloit College.
