Kristina Rose Named Dean of NYU Libraries

Kristina Rose

New York University (NYU) has named Kristina Rose dean of libraries, effective May 1, 2025. She has been serving as interim dean of NYU Libraries since January.

Kristina was appointed associate dean for collections and content strategy in 2019. She was named interim head of Access, Delivery, and Resource Sharing Services in 2011, and appointed permanent head in 2013. She first joined the NYU Libraries in 2004 as an access services librarian. Prior to coming to NYU, she was the supervisor of the Butler Reserves and Milstein College Library at Columbia University.

Kristina is active in the profession, including serving on committees of the American Library Association (ALA) and the Center for Research Libraries (CRL). She has published scholarly articles and made multiple presentations in the field, and she is the recipient of the ALA Emerging Leader Award (2007) and the NYU Division of Libraries Dean’s Award (2014). She is an alumna of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) Leadership Fellows Program class of 2021–2022.

Kristina earned a BA from the University of Colorado, an MLIS from Long Island University, and an MA from NYU.
