University of Rochester has appointed Maurini Strub as interim vice provost and interim Andrew H. & Janet Dayton Neilly Dean of the University of Rochester Libraries, effective August 1, 2024. Kevin Garewal stepped down as dean at the end of July to transition to his alma mater Cleveland State University–College of Law as an assistant professor and director of the law library.
Maurini has served as assistant dean, strategy & planning, University of Rochester Libraries, since September 2022 and has held management roles in the libraries since January 2018. Prior to going to Rochester, she was a user experience & assessment librarian at the University of Louisville. She earned a BA in biology from Oakland University and an MSI in library & information science and human-computer interaction from University of Michigan School of Information.
In the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), Maurini has served on the ARL Statistics Survey Revision Task Force 2022–2023 and the Fall Forum Planning Group 2021. She was an ARL Leadership & Career Development Program (LCDP) Fellow 2018–2019.
