Minnesota Institute for Early-Career Librarians Opens to Non-MLIS Library Professionals

UMN Andersen Library

The Minnesota Institute for Early Career Librarians from Traditionally Underrepresented Groups has broadened its application requirement for the graduate degree to include degrees in relevant areas—applicants must have either an ALA-accredited degree in library/information science or a relevant advanced degree.

The ninth biennial Institute for Early Career Librarians will be held July 19–July 25, 2014, at University of Minnesota (UMN) Twin Cities. The institute focuses on the development of academic library leaders from diverse backgrounds. Participants will work on developing specific leadership abilities proven to be critical for organizational success. The 2014 program builds on the institutes offered every other year since 1998, with nearly 200 graduates participating from universities and colleges across the US and Canada.

For more information and to apply, visit the Institute for Early Career Librarians website. The application deadline is March 14, 2014.
