Sustainability is a core value of librarianship and the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) and sustainable development is an ongoing journey of personal and organizational transformation. One of the most successful ways to embed sustainable development practice is to have regular check-in sessions to share successes and challenges, build some accountability, and foster a community of practice.

ARL is hosting a virtual workshop series aimed at helping you embed sustainable development practices in your library. The series will be facilitated by Henry McGhie, keynote speaker at the 2024 ARL President’s Institute and the founder of Curating Tomorrow.

The series format includes a conversational meeting space aided by expert learning content and material where participants can collectively share goals, progress, and challenges in taking everyday action for sustainable development and hold each other accountable for the betterment of all.
