The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) is pleased to announce the hosts for the Intensive Learning Program (ILP) and Leadership and Career Development Program (LCDP) site visits for 2027. York University Libraries will host both the 2026 LCDP Fellows and 2027 ILP Fellows, and Rutgers University Libraries will host the 2026 LCDP Fellows. The site visit is a signature event included in both the LCDP and ILP curriculums.

The LCDP is a 13-month fellowship designed to remove barriers and cultivate leaders grounded in integrity and inclusivity by developing skills to navigate change, build supportive relationships, share power, engage communities, communicate with impact, and engage in critical inquiry, self-awareness, and leadership visioning.

The ILP is an eight-month hybrid fellowship that aims to strengthen the strategic thinking and decision-making skills of fellows while exploring operational aspects and management responsibilities of senior leader portfolios in research libraries and archives during times of rapid, continuous change.

“York University Libraries is delighted to support the ARL Leadership and Career Development Program and Intensive Learning Program and to serve as a site host for the upcoming cohorts,” said Joseph Hafner 11LFP Fellow, dean of libraries, York University. “These programs play a vital role in fostering the next generation of library leaders. These are individuals whose energy, insight, and commitment strengthen research libraries across North America. We are honoured to contribute to a learning experience that empowers emerging leaders to grow, innovate, and shape the future of our profession.”

“We at Rutgers University Libraries are excited to contribute to the ARL Leadership and Career Development Program, which offers a unique window into the role of a research library dean or director,” said Consuella Askew 01LCDP Fellow, vice president for university libraries and university librarian at Rutgers University. “As a member of the 2001–2002 LCDP cohort, I personally benefited from this impactful program and had the opportunity to see up close what deans and directors of research libraries do. Hosting this year’s cohort is a privilege for us.”
