Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Libraries has been awarded the 2018 Excellence in Academic Libraries Award in the university category by the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL). VCU is one of three academic libraries—a community college, college, and university library—being recognized by ACRL this year for “programs that deliver exemplary services and resources to further the educational mission of the institution.” VCU is being honored for “its transformative services, initiatives, and role within the campus community.” Of the 19 university library recipients of this award since the program started in 2000, 11 have been ARL members, including VCU.
