Yolanda Cooper Promoted to Dean and University Librarian for Emory University

Emory University has promoted Yolanda Cooper to dean and university librarian, effective July 1, 2019. She has served as university librarian at Emory since 2014.

Cooper will continue to lead the Emory Libraries in facilitating the research and learning of faculty, students, and staff. Since 2017 she has served as a member of the Council of Deans, through which she will continue to provide insight and partnership to the provost and academic leaders of Emory’s nine schools and colleges.

Cooper is active in the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), currently serving on the ARL Member Engagement and Outreach Committee (2017–2019). She previously served on ARL’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (2015–2017); Scholarly Dissemination Engine Design Team (2015–2016); and Nominating Committee (2015).
