On July 1, 2021, ARL signed onto a letter to the US Department of Education Office of Postsecondary Education, in response to its intent to prepare regulations for programs authorized under title IV of the HEA. Among other topics, the letter recommends full discharge of federal student loan obligations for borrowers with disabilities. In addition to responding to the notice of public hearings, the letter offers guiding principles for the Department.
