Advancing Diversity, Inclusion, and Equality: Stony Brook University

by Constantia Constantinou | Dean of University Libraries | on March 1, 2016

We recognize the need for engaging the academic community on issues related to issues of social justice and racial equality. The program is named “University Libraries in Conversation.” We are working closely with the deans of undergraduate schools, the deans of graduate schools, and the dean of students to invite and host the conversations.

As part of the library renovation project, we are identifying designated space for dialogue and discussion with external speakers as well as in-house campus discussion groups. We aim to begin the planning process in January led by our librarian head of humanities and social science. We anticipate the first conversations to take place in spring 2016.
