Learning at ARL

ARL member libraries and archives employ more than 35,000 people. Their work aids faculty, students, researchers, and members of the general public in their pursuit of knowledge. As the mission of research libraries changes in support of the research enterprise, ARL library staff will address user needs in new ways.

The Learning Network is a crucial resource for advancing professional development. This unified suite of programs empowers ARL libraries and archives staff with the tools necessary to meet the current and future needs of users. Offerings focus on leadership and skills development; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and the challenges of organizational change.

The Learning Network seeks to foster:

  • An agile mind-set
  • Dedication to lifelong learning
  • Mastery of cultural, diversity, equity, and inclusion competencies
  • A collaborative spirit and commitment to partnership in the global research enterprise
