Clement Guthro Appointed University Librarian for University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa

The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa has named Clement “Clem” Guthro as university librarian, effective January 2, 2020.

Guthro served as dean of the library at California State University Fullerton from 2017 to 2018. Prior to that, he was the director of libraries at Colby College from 2003 to 2017.

At the University of Hawai‘i, Guthro will succeed Irene Herold, who stepped down in June 2017 to accept the position of librarian of the college at the College of Wooster. Herold led the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Libraries for four years. Monica Ghosh has been serving as interim university librarian since August 2017. Ghosh will return to her faculty position as the South Asia studies librarian.
