Denise Stephens Named Vice Provost and University Librarian at Washington University in St. Louis

Washington University in St. Louis has appointed Denise Stephens vice provost and university librarian, effective July 1, 2017. Stephens is currently university librarian at UC Santa Barbara. She was an ARL Leadership & Career Development Program fellow in 1997–1998. 

Stephens will succeed Jeffrey G. Trzeciak, who left Washington University in July 2016, after four years as university librarian. Marion G. Crain, vice provost and Wiley B. Rutledge professor of law, has been serving as interim leader of the libraries since August 2016.
