Iowa State University has appointed Hilary Seo dean of library services, effective May 10, 2021.

Seo, the Iowa State University Library’s associate dean of curation services, has served as interim dean since July 2019. She was an ARL Leadership Fellow in 2018–2019. Seo joined the Iowa State faculty in 2003 after serving at the Georgetown University Law Library and, prior to that, at the Getty Research Institute’s Center for the History of Art and the Humanities.

Seo succeeds Beth McNeil, who was named dean of Purdue University Libraries and School of Information Studies in 2019 after serving as dean of library services for Iowa State University since 2015.
