Joseph Meisel to Serve as Interim University Librarian at Brown University

Brown University has named Joseph Meisel interim university librarian, effective August 1, 2018.

Meisel is deputy provost and adjunct associate professor of history at Brown and previously worked at the Mellon Foundation as program officer for research universities and humanistic scholarship. His appointment as interim university librarian follows the departure of Harriette Hemmasi, who was appointed dean of the library at Georgetown University after leading Brown University Library for 13 years.
