The NC State University Libraries invites applications and nominations for the position of Resource Sharing Librarian in the Access Services department. Part of the Student Success division, the department connects users with experts, collections, technology, and spaces.
Responsibilities: The Resource Sharing Librarian joins the management team in Access Services to set and achieve user-focused, forward- thinking goals and objectives. They collaborate with colleagues throughout the Libraries and academic consortial communities to identify and implement innovative discovery-to-delivery services and service improvements. The incumbent provides leadership and management for resource sharing, including interlibrary loan, delivery of materials on campus, scanning services, and physical and electronic course reserves, and provides proactive services to support the academic, professional, and extracurricular success of a diverse student population. They engage with users at Ask Us, our combined service point, and analyze and act on user feedback and trends in resource sharing and scholarly communication. They supervise four full-time staff and a budget for student assistants, design workflows, and maintain internal controls and documentation. This position serves on library-wide committees, task forces, and teams. NC State University librarians are expected to be active professionally and to contribute to developments in the field. The position reports to the Department Head, Access Services.
