The Manager of Library Services serves as the primary liaison to Ohio University Zanesville and Zane State College students, faculty, and staff. This position delivers, manages, and assesses library services, including curricular and research support, on the Zanesville campus library, a shared facility between the two institutions. This position works collaboratively with staff across University Libraries to ensure equitable access to resources and services, and to advance the strategic goals of the Libraries’ and the University.
Serves as the Libraries’ liaison to the students, faculty, and staff at Ohio University Zanesville and Zane State College:
- Builds relationships and collaborates with faculty to access and integrate library materials into research and curricular efforts.
- Provides research and information literacy instructional services.
- Leads collection development and the acquisitions process for Zane State College.
Manages operations and access to physical collections at the Zanesville location:
- Collaborates across University Libraries departments and staff to ensure efficient and equitable operation of services.
- Supervises and trains 1 FTE library support specialist, who manages transactional work such as intercampus and OhioLINK borrowing and lending, student employee supervision, and service desk coverage.
- Supports the training of staff and students who assist with local operations through documentation and guidance.
Alongside subject librarians and others, participates in assignments and initiatives in support of collection development/management, research services, and education services for Ohio University Libraries.
Supports campus operations, primarily related to community engagement, as assigned by the Dean of Campus and Community Relations, Ohio University Zanesville.
Advances and supports the strategic plan and goals of the Libraries and the University by engaging professionally as part of the continuing commitment to bringing best practices and innovative services to the Libraries and our users.
