Iowa State University has appointed Beth McNeil as dean of the library, effective July 15, 2015. She is currently professor and associate dean for academic affairs at the Purdue University Libraries and an ARL leadership fellow in the 2013–2015 cohort. At Iowa State, McNeil will succeed Olivia Madison, who stepped down as library dean on September 1, 2014, after 17 years in the position. Joyce Garnett has served as interim dean during the search process.
