Senior Writer and Editor
Kaylyn Groves is responsible for developing clear, compelling, effective communications to tell ARL’s stories across multiple media. She helps maintain the ARL “voice,” consistent messages, and high editorial standards in ARL communications.
Kaylyn writes news items, impact stories, press releases, reports, messages to member representatives, marketing material, and other communications as needed. She serves as editor of the ARL News and copy editor of Research Library Issues and other ARL web content. She also provides general editorial guidance to ARL staff in communicating with the library and higher education communities.
This is Kaylyn’s second tenure at ARL. After serving as the ARL statistics & measurement research assistant in 1994–95, she held library positions at the National Gallery of Art, the University of Virginia, and the University of Oregon before returning to ARL in 1999. Kaylyn’s professional library experience was largely in creating websites to disseminate images to art & architectural history students.
Kaylyn earned a BA in economics and quantitative analysis from Colby College and an MS in library and information science from the Catholic University of America. She completed the coursework toward an MA in art history at the University of Oregon.
