The ARL and CARL Boards of Directors are pleased to invite you to attend the joint ARL/CARL Association Meeting to be held Monday–Thursday, April 25–28, 2022, in Toronto, Ontario. We are looking forward to the opportunity to bring our two associations together in person for the first time in six years. The meeting will be held at the InterContinental Toronto Centre, located at 225 Front Street West, Toronto, Ontario, M5V 2X3.

Registration for this event is closed. Please email events@arl.org with questions.

If you do not plan to attend the meeting, please complete the registration form to tell us you won’t be attending. If you are designating an alternate, they must complete the registration form. ARL member representatives are encouraged to attend the virtual ARL Business Meeting on Tuesday, April 26, 3:00 p.m.–4:30 p.m. EDT, whether in Toronto or not.

COVID-19 Safety Measures

ARL and CARL are taking the necessary steps to ensure the health and safety of our member representatives, staff, and guests, and to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in compliance with regulations and other requirements that have been issued by the Province of Ontario, the City of Toronto, and public health officials.

To this end, we are taking the following measures:

  • Mandatory Vaccination: Although the Province of Ontario has removed the requirement to provide proof of vaccination, this is a private event, and as such, all attendees (including association employees, member representatives, and guests) will be required to provide proof of full vaccination (currently two doses, or a booster, the last of which was received at least 14 days prior to their attendance) and a photo ID in order to participate in person and to enter meeting and reception spaces. This information will be collected via a third-party service.
  • All attendees will be required to self-screen before entering the meeting premises.
  • All persons entering or remaining in the premises or in enclosed common areas are encouraged to wear a mask.
  • All individuals will be encouraged to perform hand hygiene when entering and leaving the premises.
  • The hotel (and meeting-service providers) will ensure the proper cleaning and disinfection of all audiovisual equipment and meeting spaces.

These health measures are subject to change as the pandemic continues to evolve.

International Travel Considerations (for US-Based Members and Guests)

During the pandemic, international travelers have been subjected to vaccination and/or testing requirements when entering a new country as well as upon returning to their country of origin.

Currently, Canada requires the following for entry (if you are fully vaccinated):

  • Starting April 1, 2022, pre-entry tests are no longer required for fully vaccinated travellers entering Canada by land, air or water. You must still use ArriveCAN within 72 hours before your arrival to Canada.
  • You must use the ArriveCAN mobile app or sign in on a computer to enter your proof of vaccination, quarantine and travel information.
  • You may be required to take a COVID-19 test upon arrival (if randomly selected).

Currently, the United States requires the following for reentry:

  • If you plan to travel internationally, you will need to get a COVID-19 viral test (regardless of vaccination status or citizenship) no more than 1 day before you travel by air into the United States. You must show your negative result to the airline before you board your flight.
  • If you recently recovered from COVID-19, you may instead travel with documentation of recovery from COVID-19 (i.e., your positive COVID-19 viral test result on a sample taken no more than 90 days before the flight’s departure from a foreign country and a letter from a licensed healthcare provider or a public health official stating that you were cleared to travel).

Again, these requirements are subject to change as the pandemic evolves. Information will be updated as it becomes available.

While attendees will be responsible for securing their own testing prior to entry into Canada, the Association will secure a third party to conveniently perform the requisite testing at the hotel, for your return to the US (at your own expense).
